Bug Description

Can the serial (RxD/TxD/ttyAM0) be added to the Device Tree model? On my coffee machine-rpi the coffee grinder is connected to GPIO 14 that happens to be the TxD line, so in the beginning it grinded coffee to the kernel logs... ;-)
I think I have now disabled the latest ttyAM0 outputter, but it feels like this would also be a good thing to explicitly enable using a DT parameter.
I suggest, following bug report #1434879, not to change this in Wheezy, but to change it in Sid and or Jessie.

You should report this with the people who can fix/implement this, which I think is https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues

You should simply use the option in raspi-config to disable the serial console https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/raspi-config.md

Problem solved! ;-)

Closing this as firmware or config related, not Raspbian.

Changed in raspbian:
