Bug Description

While trying to install any package linux-image-3.XXX-rpi the installer hangs up complaining "Failed to symbolic-link vmlinuz-3.14-1-rpi to vmlinuz." (or whatever the version number is). This is probably due to the fact the the /boot is formatted as a vfat partition which does not support symlinks

It installs ok for me.

Yes it's less than ideal that the raspberry pi foundation chose to make /boot fat but there is not much we can do about that now. We have some hacks in plac that make it work but it still spews out some warnings.

One of those hacks is to divert some files in preinst and un-divert them in postinst. This can take some time especailly if you have a crappy SD card, how long did you wait?

Is this still an issue?

In the raspbian-ua-netinst we use the linux-image-3.XXX-rpi package too and I myself have probably done > 100 installs and we would have LOTS of bugs if it didn't.
