Bug Description

I would like you to consider packaging GStreamer 1.x with all Pi optimization in Jessie and adding the gst-omx elements to it. Because right now with the current Raspbian packages GStreamer is close to useless on the Raspberry Pi.
What basically needs to be done is
a) recompilation of gst-plugins-bad1.0 with configure argument --with-egl-window-system=rpi to enable the eglglessink
b) addition of a new package gst-omx for the accelerated codecs. I have the source-package for you if you wish.

I entirely agree.

The attached patches will cause the eglglessink module to build with the correct --with-egl-window-system=rpi configure flag; a few tweaks were required to force the build to use the correct libraries.

For various reasons I really don't want the packages in raspbian main depending on the Pi specific packages.

So if you want to see this in raspbian then you need to alter the packaging so that the Pi specific "eglglessink" is built from it's own source package and placed in it's own binary package.

I linked this thread at :

Now, I could help on that if noone does ... just lead me how to submit changes to rasbian,

would attaching a debdiff file be enough ?

Is there a more recent version that gstreamer-omx Version: 1.0.0.1-0+rpi13rpi1 ?

Perhaps work with 1.9.90 (as well) see https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/releases/gst-omx/1.9.90.html as it nears the release of the 1.10 version. Here also some improvements and changes have been made to the building process.
