Bug Description
I have a Raspberry Pi Model B. I was able to install the image (2013-05-25-wheezy raspbian.img) without error. For the printer/scanner Samsung SCX-4200 I have the cups package installed and configured. The printer/scanner SCX-4200 is detected directly without problems. The printer/scanner is working properly.
After an update/upgrade of raspian and reboot the scanner does not work anymore.
sudo scanimage >image.pnm
I get the error:
scanimage: sane_start: Error during device I/O
I deleted the SD card and reinstalled the image and then the cups package again. The scanner works again flawlessly. I then made individually for each package upgrade.
After I upgraded the packages libraspberrypi-bin, libraspberrypi-dev, libraspberrypi-doc, libraspberrypi0, raspberrypi-artwork and raspberrypi-
The error is reproducible.
Sorry for my bad English. It is only a machine translation.
Is this still an issue?
If so, can you provide the output of 'apt-cache policy libraspberrypi-bin' ?
