Bug Description

I tried to install Raspian with the installer from http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianInstaller. Unfortuantely my keyboard is not working so i can't use the menus.
It works well with my notebook. lsusb gives me:

"Bus 006 Device 003: ID 046a:0023 Cherry GmbH CyMotion Master Linux Keyboard"

uname -a (on my notebook):

"Linux blacky 3.2.0-27-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 6 14:25:57 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"

For me it seems to be working during boot, but the minute we hit xbmc it stops working.. Really annoying. Current "workaround" for me is to use Yatse remote on android.

Hi,

I have the same issue with the same keyboard:
Bus 004 Device 019: ID 046a:0023 Cherry GmbH CyMotion Master Linux Keyboard

I can't navigate in the menus to install raspbian with the installer (using "rpi_installer_08-19-12.zip", from http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianInstaller).

The same keyboard work well with this image : 2012-12-16-wheezy-raspbian.zip (from http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads).

That's strange because I have used this keyboard many times to install debian systems on different machines using the net-installer.

While we hosted the hacked up version of the debian installer on archive.raspbian.org it was created and maintained by by a third party who appears to have lost interest.

I'm hoping someone will do a proper port of the debian installer at some point but so-far noone has stepped forward to do it.

The latest post on the forums from the creator of this installer was on 18 Jan 2013, so I think it's safe to assume that there will be no more updates to that installer.
Do you still want to keep this bug open or can it be closed?
