Display metadata

Please add a feature to display certain metadata. I would love to have the date/time of an image in the overview right after the file name. A tooltip with even more metadata information would be nice too...

You are welcome to write the code to display metadata information in a tooltip - it's one of many features that would be nice to have, but takes time to implement.

A closely related feature is to have the option of displaying the date and time for each thumbnail, but it must be able to be turned off via a menu option for those users that don't want it.

I nice feature, kinda related to this, would be the ability to group photos by date. I usually download photos using job codes which forces me, sometimes, to download only some photos. I would be nice to have them grouped by shooting date so they are more easily identifiable.

Another nice feature. I simply don't have time at the moment to code it, however.

The file modification time, file size and file name has been added to a tooltip in the next version.

It is not possible to use the Exif datetime in the tooltip, as that information is not available from cameras when using gphoto2.

Grouping photos by date is a different issue and something I've listed as a nice feature.

I figured out a way to get the metadata date / time for photos & videos that are on most cameras. It was not easy because the variety of file formats.
