Short model names do not work when the model has no numbers

Bug Description
The short model name is determined by the first occurrence of a digit in the camera model, including all alphaNumeric characters before and after that digit up till a non-alphanumeric character. But this does not account for names like "Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi"
Just as Canon "Mark" designations are shortened prior to conversion, short model names should be handled more intelligently.
