Hello.

It exists function to easily change foreground and background colors. that mean changing ligher and darker colors at once. I have copied this function from okular. you can use it in qpdfview.

Why don't you open a merge request with these changes (they should complement the existing background color effects) and we'll try to get them available to everyone?

Closing as this actually what we already have as the darken/lighten with paper color effects.
