qpdfview is running through the pages in long documents

In documents with e.g. 50 pages and more, this issue hampers the use of qpdfview. After turning the
first pages, qpdfview starts rapidly turning over all the pages until it has reached the end of the document. When I try to go back to the page, where I stopped reading, then qpdfview immediately starts running through the pages again, as soon I release the page up key or the slider at the right hand side of the window. This issue is independent of the type of keyboard I employ.
