Bug Description

Hi,

well I don't know why zoom is working fine when I'm selecting a value from the drop-down list or when I'm typing it in, but the + and - buttons won't work.

The + and - zoom options in the view menu (Affichage) won't work either.

I'm using Qpdfview 0.4.15 on Trisquel 7

Hello,

there is one setting related to incremental zoom on the behavior tab of the settings dialog called "zoom factor". Can you please check its value? The default 1.1 and provides a logarithmic zooming of 10% with each step.

If that setting has a sensible value, please run qpdfview in a terminal and check whether any additional toolkit level warnings or errors are displayed.

Best regards, Adam.

Hi,

Zoom factor now is : 1.00
I probably changed it manually some time ago.

Now that I've put it back to default, the zoom buttons are working again.

Putting it back to 1.00, running $ qpdfview mypdf.pdf
the buttons and menu options fail to work again and I get no error message in the terminal...

By the way I've noticed another bug with the Settings window : window is too big, I can't see the buttons at the bottom of it so I can't click on them. I'm just pressing return key blindly to confirm and close. But maybe that's a known bug already ?

Hello again,

the buttons doing nothing when the value is set to exactly 1 is correct behavior as it means zooming in zero percent increments. Removing that value from the range of allowed values is also not possible that interval is open.

Concerning the settings windows, I would say that it is not a bug: The window has a minimum size dictated by the UI elements visible. That size is just too big for the monitor resolution in question. One could make the dialog scrollable, but one can also scroll the dialog itself as most window managers use a modifier key to drag windows around even when not clicked at the title bar. (I think usually the Alt keyboard modifier is default for this.)

Best regards, Adam.

OK technically this is not a bug, but maybe you should keep usability in mind too.
Not everyone knows everything about window manager or anything going on in one's computer. Just think of newbies too...

Anyway thanks for that tip, good to know.
