Keep italic and bold formatting when copying text

Hi,

this is a feature request.

Your copy text tool works fine on PDFs, that's the best tool I've seen so far for that job.

But there's still that feature missing. I've tested Calibre for PDF to RTF conversion and it's able to keep italic and bold formatting, so I guess you could find a way to enhance your tool that way too.

Another request would be to be able to copy text in 2 steps instead of 3, with a specific keyboard shortcut + mouse click and drag, removing the last step when you have to select "Copy text".

Anyway, thanks for your nice app, I'm a happy user of it :)

This text extraction mechanism is part of the underlying library called Poppler, it does support extraction as plain text or conversion to HTML, but not localized extraction of formatted text. Since it definitely does not make sense to duplicate such functionality within qpdfview, I am marking this a "Won't Fix" as this kind of development needs to begin at the library level first.

Concerning text selection, there is a two-step process, but it works the other way around: You can hold down the copy-to-clipboard modifier which is Shift by default but can be changed using the settings dialog and just begin to drag your selection and finally choose what to do with it.

After some testing, I think my suggestion would be a little more user-friendly though ...
