Bug Description

Printing the PDF works fine on Evince and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0,
but fails on qpdfview v0.4.12 and v0.4.16.

Just spits out two sheets of paper.
The first one says:

    ERROR:
    syntaxerror
    OFFENDING COMMAND:
    sethalftone
    STACK:
    --nostringval--
    -mark-
    -mark-
    -mark-

The second one says:

    PS error: invalidaccess

I have tried changing the Quality/Halftone setting
to "Detail" and "Smooth" instead of "Auto",
but it didn't help.

Hello Nathaniel,

thank you for taking the time to report this! In contrast to Evince and Adobe Reader, qpdfview does not convert the PDF to PostScript (or otherwise preprocess it) before giving it to CUPS for printing. It could be that this is triggered a problem in the filter chain. To determine if this is case, could you try printing the file directly using the command-line tool "lp", e.g. by running "lp 'Vaarkamp - 1998 - Obtaining reliable structural parameters from EXAF.pdf'" in a terminal? Thank you.

Best regards, Adam.

Hi Adam,

You are correct, printing with the command-line causes the same problem, so it is not a bug in qpdfview. Please close the bug.

Cheers,

Nathaniel
