Opening several tabs for the same file when using restore tabs

Bug Description

Opening a PDF file, closing qpdfview and afterwards opening the PDF file ( e.g. by double click on it) again, results in a new tab for the same file. It would be more inuitive, if the reader recognizes that a tab for this file already exists and assigns the focus on it.

Hello Hans Peter,

thank for taking the time to report this issue. Launchpad's OpenID is
provider is current so I cannot properly triage it, however:

I think you meant opening a PDF, minimizing (not closing) qpdfview, and
opening it again from e.g. a file manager will open a new instance of
qpdfview?

If so, which version of qpdfview do you use? If it is an older version
from the Ubuntu repositories, maybe [1] or getting the current version
using Benjamin Etzner's PPA available [2] does resolve it?

Best regards, Adam.

Hi Adam,

I'm new to reporting bugs, so I apologize for the missing information.

Thank you for your hints, but I already tried [1] and my qpdfview version is 0.4.9 using Benjamin Etzner's PPA. This should be the current version as far as I know. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

No, I really meant opening a PDF, closing qpdfview (completely) and opening it (the PDF file and with that qpdfview) again from a file manager (in my case it is thunar). This results in two identically tabs.

I hope my problem becomes clear.

Best regards,
Hans

Hello again,

now I think I understand: You use the "Restore tabs / Reiter wiederherstellen" functionality? There is indeed an inconsistency here that is already fixed in trunk and will be part of release 0.4.10. If you feel a bit more adventurous, you can grab the daily builds from [1] which should fix it or wait until 0.4.10 is released (no date for that yet).

Best regards, Adam.
