Bug Description

If one right-clicks an annotation, the normal contextmenu is shown instead of the option to remove the annotation. Thus annotations cannot be removed.

This bug is fixed in trunk revision 1228.

Ok... Just upgraded into the 0.44 version and the same behavior was found... no saving of annotations and these are missing when using different pdf viewers. PLEASE note that this bug is for both text and highlight annotations.....

Please fix soon.

Thanks,
Katy

This bug is possibly present in versions 0.4 through 0.4.4. It is fixed in tree and thus will not be present in the upcoming release 0.4.5. (Therefore it is marked "Fix Committed" and not yet "Fix Released".) If it is urgent for you to have packages without this bug you might use the daily-deb PPA until 0.4.5 is released: https://code.launchpad.net/~adamreichold/+recipe/qpdfview-dailydeb
However please note that these are automated builds from trunk that might explode any time.

Hello Katy,

I think this was supposed to be a comment to bug #1217470 instead of
this one? Better we'll discuss *saving* (in contrast to removing)
annotations there.

Best regards, Adam.

It would be really nice if you would not release software that has glaring bugs like the fact that annotations DO NOT WORK. It appears that they are NOT SAVED AT ALL. You could have greyed out the annotation option, but instead as a user of the software I of course assumed that since they were there, they worked, as one tends to assume. So I have now just wasted about 12 hours of time adding annotations to a document (page proofs for a book) and now they are all lost and I will need to re-do them.

If I did not have notes, it could have been 36 hours, or longer. I regularly save and thought this was sufficient to ensure that I was not going to have wasted my time -- I did not realise that I needed to close and re-open the document to learn whether the annotations would actually save. Please do not release software with features that do not work in future. Please grey out functions that don't work. It is extremely unprofessional and rude. :(
