qdiff width problem on small monitor

Bug Description

About one third of the window of a qdiff extends beyond my screen, and I can't adjust it with the mouse. I can adjust the window height, but not the width.

I've tried looking around in qbzr/lib/diffview.py and trying adjusting different things called "width", but with no success.

Is there a more proper way to do this? Or if not, is there a way to fiddle with diffview.py to adjust the window size?

I'd like to see an above/below layout as an alternative to
side-by-side. The best option for now is to choose a unidiff instead.

The issue is that our ui bellow the diff (side by side, unidiff,
complete, encodings etc...) is to big, and causes the window to be
increased to larger than screen size.

Martin: If you feel that an above/below layout is important, please log
a separate bug.

And our plans to move this ui into a toolbar should fix this.

The display where the diff window doesn't fit is the display on an 14" iBook G4 laptop, resolution 1024 x 768.

Same problem here on a 1024*600 pixels netbook display, the long German strings do not really help the problem. Coud you just abbreviate the strings somehow when the window gets too small?
