qBittorrent (Unknown version) worked on my laptop with Linux Mint 11 Katya.
I installed LMDE on my Desktop about a week ago and Laptop yesterday. Running qBittorrent didn't show any form of GUI on my Laptop, but on my Desktop it showed the splash for a split second.

This is a distro issue. The qBittorrent packages needs recompiling, probably because libtorrent-rasterbar has been updated. I know that this issue affected Debian Testing for qbittorrent v2.9.3. Based on your distro, I'm assuming you're using this faulty package. However, I know for sure that Debian testing fixed that when updated to qBittorrent v2.9.5. I don't know why you're still using v2.9.3 although v2.9.5 is available in debian testing repo. Anyway, update and the problem will be gone. You may also file a bug against your distro and ask them to trigger a recompilation of the qBittorrent package if needed.

I installed the MEPIS package since I already had their repo in my sources.list (for wine), it worked.
LMDE is based on Debian, but has it's own repo which pulls packages from testing when they seem stable, so thats why I don't have 2.9.5 available yet.

In that case, you should definitely file a bug against LMDE to make sure they either rebuild their v2.9.3 package or pull the v2.9.5 one.
