Bug Description

I'd like to be able to sort the RSS feed contents by title or date. Currently (v2.0.5) the feed results appear randomly and their order gets changed with each feed update.

Hmm. They are sorted by date (more recent first).
Could you check your articles dates? Maybe some of the feeds you are using don't provide correct dates (or maybe they are not correctly parsed by qbittorrent).

I had a look at the rss source and the articles do have the correct
dates and are also in date order but when I checked the source with an
online rss validator it complained about the "timestamps not conforming
to RFC822".

Another problem I think is related to this is that qbittorrent can't
keep track of which articles have been read.

I'll email you a couple of screenshots and the source rss.

Indeed, your RSS feed contains publication dates but there do not comply with the RSS specification... I'll see if I can add support for this format too but I think you should contact the RSS feed provider about this issue.

A correct pubDate format is "Sat, 07 Sep 2002 00:00:01 GMT" (cf. http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/rss/rss.html). Is this a public RSS feed? If so, could you please send me the URL instead of the file.

Well. I contacted the RSS feed administrators about the issue. I hope they fix this soon because I don't wish to make qBittorrent heavier because of one site that does not follow the spec.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I agree with the philosophy
of not adding bloat to work around broken feeds. The lightness of
qbittorrent is one of the things I love about it.

I still think it was be nice to be able to sort the feeds by title or
date, in the case of this feed sorting by title would mean the broken
dates would be much less important, but I think it would be a nice
feature generally. I imaging the feed window being having 2 columns,
title and date, clicking on either would sort by that column, same as
the downloads window.

I'm definitely not thinking this was a bug, but rather something for the
wishlist, I tried to tag it as such when I filed the report but not sure
if I was successful.
