Bug Description

Reproduce:
sudo aptitude install rtorrent
Will result in this on Ubuntu Feisty (Debian):
The following packages are BROKEN:
  rblibtorrent1

rblibtorrent1: Conflicts: libtorrent9 but 0.10.4-1 is to be installed.
Solution:
Change name for the debian release.

I already renamed our libtorrent for debian release to rblibtorrent. The problem is that the libtorrent included by Debian (and used by rtorrent) conflicts with our libtorrent. The .so file is the same (/usr/lib/libtorrent.so). Hence, my debian packages take this into consideration add clearly declare that both libtorrents conflict. This is unfortunate but this is not a bug I think. I don't see how I could allow the two libs to be installed at the same time.

Changed in qbittorrent:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

I don't know enough about qBittorrent but could you not rename the
libtorrent.so (even if it as to be included in the qbittorrent package
and compiled specifically for it)?

This should be fixed upstream. We can't change the library names.

Therefore, I'm closing the Ubuntu task.

importance: Undecided → Low
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
