solum lp create alpine-lp <email address hidden>:devdattakulkarni/solum-lp-python-alpine.git

This should have worked as the input URL has the correct form. But we are getting following error:

ERROR: The request is malformed. Reason: Bad git url. Provide git url in the following format:
Public repo: https://github.com/<USER>/<REPO>.git
Private repo: <email address hidden>:<USER>/<REPO>.git

I also met the same problem.

This issue was fixed in the openstack/solum 5.0.0 release.
