Bug Description

I am running Ubuntu 5.10 with all installed packages up to date on a Dell Latitude D610 notebook (I'm very impressed by how easy it was to set up, by the way, considering this is a laptop and all). My batter power monitor gives terrible time estimates; for instance, while my battery takes about 20 minutes to fully charge usually, it often estimates that it will take 600+ hours to charge.

This bug is not 100% reproducible, but I have observed it multiple times.

Thanks for your bug report. I'd really be interested to see how this works with Dapper - if you have the chance to pop in a Dapper LiveCD and check, that'd be great, because I know that a couple of good fixes went into the battery applet in the mean time.

Is this still a problem in Dapper or Edgy?
