Bug Description

Cinder now support the ability to attach volumes in the read-only mode, this should be exposed through horizon. Read-only mode could be ensured by hypervisor configuration during the attachment. Libvirt, Xen, VMware and Hyper-V support R/O volumes.

I think it makes sense to track this in a couple of blueprints (for nova an horizon). It doesn't sound like a small change and it is better to have it properly defined.

Take a look to the blueprint in [1], it looks like the first step to have the feature you request in nova.

As horizon, it totally depends on nova, so there is nothing to do until nova supports it. It is a long-standing wishlist and there is no progress. From the bug maintenance perspective, the horizon team removes horizon from the affected project. In future, if the feature is implemented, feel free to file a new bug and a blueprint to horizon.
