Bug Description
Would you mind uploading the python-memcached sdist to pypi? Right now there is just a link to your ftp site. This can be problematic particularly in corporate environments where the download might be blocked by a firewall. I also recall having some trouble in the past accessing the server and I believe it was actually down.

It has been an HTTP link for a while now, some firewalls have issues with FTP so that should help. The server is almost never down, in the last several years I think we've had maybe 10 minutes of downtime as the system has been rebooted into new kernels.
I have done an sdist upload of 1.48, please let me know if you continue to have problems with this.
