Unable to use dollar sign in usernames for access

In Active Directory, computers have accounts that end in a $.

If I try to grant a computer account access to a share, I get the following error :

[root@host ~]# manila access-allow --access-level rw exco_sql user EXSQL$
ERROR: Invalid user or group name. Must be 4-255 characters and consist of alphanumeric characters and special characters ]{.-_'`;}[\
