shows a 'msg' keyword argument. This kwarg isn't actually used in the function anywhere, but it would be very useful if it were.

Just as a side note, passing in `locals()` and dynamically adding anything that happens to be in there seems like an idea ripe for abuse. But maybe I'm biased :)
