python-mkdebian doesn't work for namespace packages?

Bug Description

I've encountered two basic problems with python-mkdebian. First, python setup.py install_egg_info -d <dir> installs a directory called package.egg-info, but python-mkdebian seems to expect that that's a file. Second, it expects that the results of that command leaves only one file in the installdir, but actually two are left. The other one is a -nspkg.pth file. I've only tried it with a namespace package (specifically lp:flufl.enum) so I don't know if this is a general or specific problem. I am on Lucid with a stock python-distutils-extra package.
