On Windows there would not be any problems since the openSSL binaries would be inside the egg itself, and on OS X there would only potentially be problems if they overwrite the standard openSSL libraries that come with the system. If someone had a different version of openSSL that they got through fink or macports it wouldn't interfere with the pyOpenSSL egg.
