"Will wait" never returns on failure to bootstrap

Bug Description

Updated: changed description to reflect underlying issue.

We have to tweak the connection initialization to be more friendly to crashes in Ensemble.

When the ensemble-admin initialize command crashes, the user hangs in a terminal forever on "Will wait.". It'd be much better to show a stack trace or something and point out that it won't evolve further.

The cause is that the server crashed, apparently, so ZK was indeed empty.

Sorry, by that I mean that the ensemble-admin initialize never took place, or never finished properly at least.
