Bug Description

in gazpacho live CD alpha, the VLC menu item does nothing. running "vlc" or "vlc-wrapper" from terminal gives:

vlc 1.1.4 main libvlc error: No modules were found, refusing to start. Check that you properly gave a module path with --plugin-path.

A more verbose output (using "-vv") gives stuff including lines suggesting it's trying to load plugins from "/filesystem-squashfs/usr/lib/vlc/plugins" rather than "/usr/lib/vlc/plugins" - which means it's interacting weirdly with the live squashfs.

There's a workaround - explicitly set the path:

     vlc --plugin-path=/usr/lib/vlc/plugins

we may need to edit the .desktop file so that the menu does this (this would be a hook editing /usr/share/applications/vlc.desktop)
