3G mobile device not showing in nm-applet
same kernel on regular ubuntu install it does...

shows up fine
[ 10.198375] usb 1-4: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB1
[ 10.198404] option: v0.7.2:USB Driver for GSM modems

seems we are missing modemmanager which networkmanger uses to access such devices

installed modemmanager and restarted network manager service and now mobile usb dongle works... wow :)
