Bug Description
Even if the delay is intentional--in order to avoid taxing the mail server, exhibiting spam-like behavior, or whatever--the first invitation should go out immediately. This will at least help with single-recipient invitations and password-change requests. As is, password-change recipients (and invite-senders who are in contact through another channel with their invite-recipients) often think the system is not working. This frequently leads them to resend (or re-submit a password-change request). In the latter case, users frequently receive the _first_ response email _after_ submitting the second request, only to find that the included temporary password does not work.
