Bug Description

Please backport apt-cacher-ng 0.7.7-1ubuntu1 (universe) from quantal to precise.

Reason for the backport:
========================
Fixes LP#647212

Testing:
========
Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s quantal -d precise apt-cacher-ng

* precise:
[X] Package builds without modification
[X] apt-cacher-ng installs cleanly and runs

amd64: https://launchpad.net/~pi-rho/+archive/dragons/+build/3916932
i386: https://launchpad.net/~pi-rho/+archive/dragons/+build/3916933

Reverse dependencies:
=====================
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version of
apt-cacher-ng. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the
package still builds against the new apt-cacher-ng. For reverse-dependencies,
please test that the version of the package currently in the release still works
with the new apt-cacher-ng installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and
Enhances don't need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.

This should also be backported to Lucid; however, a slight change needs to be made for it to be successfully built. The attached patch is that change. The build does carp a bit about dpkg-buildflags not being available, so more changes may be appropriate.

failed Lucid builds:

For Lucid, you'll need to remove the pre-depends on dpkg as well. If you get a working patch and a build works on Lucid, I'd be happy to review that one as well.

Did you actually test the binaries on lucid to make sure they work? (install/run)

Yes:

1. I installed the package in a lucid schroot (buildd variant)
2. configured to listen on a unique port (3143 vs. default 3142)
3. configured another system to use it as an apt proxy (Acquire::http { Proxy "http://schroots-ip:3143/"; }; )
4. pulled an apt-get update from the second system
5. attempted apt-get dist-upgrade (no new packages were available)
6. validated that ACNG's cache in the schroot was populated

   (pbuild22749)root@dark-passenger:/var/cache/apt-cacher-ng# du -hsc *
   28K archive.canonical.com
   124K ppa.launchpad.net
   96K security.ubuntu.com
   13M uburep
   14M total

I observed no errors during install or operation.
