Screen will not automatically turn off

running rc-proposed r114 on Arale

My settings are set for lock when idle for 1 minute and all was working fine, the screen would correctly dim and lock after the specified time.

Then after receiving some phone calls and text messages, the phone is now in a state where the screen will never dim/turn off automatically, unless I press the power button.
