Bug Description

When a message is archived, there is no way (when viewing the archive folder for that account) to un-archive the message, and put it back in the original folder it came from.

I was expecting to either right-click the message and have that option, or to just view the message and click the archive button to put it back where it came from.

You can easily drag the message to the folder..

Shouldn't the option of clicking the "Archive" button be available to the user? It, at least for me, makes the most sense.

It would make more sense, but postler would need to "track" every single message you archive (which can be many)..i don't know what the best thing to do is (maybe moving to Inbox when clicking on the un-archive button?)

I feel like more and more it would pay to have a settings dialog. You could then let the user choose in it what sort of behavior they want (move to inbox, trash, etc.).

it would be easy to keep track of once we have indexing...

Are there any public details on what indexing will entail? Or will it come as it is implemented?

The way it is now, Delete turns into Undelete inside the Trash folder. The Archive button could behave in the same fashion and move messages back into the Inbox. That is the most common use case.

Indexing will, unlike now, allow arbitrary meta data such as "where did a message come from originally". That would be an enhancement, not a requirement, in this case, from my perspective. You can have a look at the relevant blueprint, it's not quite uptodate currently but should give you an idea, I need to fix it.

When there will be a new backend with indexing, this behaviour can be improved..

Yes, that's what I meant. Except I don't know what icon to use.

Could this be ok for the moment? It uses the archive-insert icon, but that can easily be changed when we find the right icon.

The attached patch installs the new unarchive icon to your system.

Thanks a lot. I squashed the patches, made it use the new icon name and changed it to install it to "actions", not "apps". Looking quite nice.
