Bug Description

This is possibly a duplicate of #674334 [1], but that one was wontfixed while being bundled with other requests, so I'll make a separate attempt. It is also closely related to this bug on filters [3].

It would be great if Postler had support for label / tags. I'm not talking about Gmail-style labels which are sorta "smart" IMAP folders; I'm talking more of labels in the sense of tags, as used by Zoho Mail (server) and in clients such as Opera Mail or Claws.

Labels / tags can be useful in various situations. Using filters and depending on Sender, Subject, Body Message or Recipient, messages could be automatically tagged/labelled as "personal", "follow", "useful", "project x". (Support for filters is the subject of a separate request [3].) User could also manually label or tag atypical messages that cannot easily be caught by automatic filters. In the interface Postler would then offer a collapseable list of labels / tags below the list of folders, which would allow for easy access of tagged e-mails. The list of labels would then sorta act like "smart" folders, in the sense that when new mail arrives and it is automatically tagged with, say, "follow", then the label would display as "follow (1)".

In several places [2] I've seen the "saved searches" functionality suggested as replacement for "filter and labels". Unfortunately, I don't think this is easily the case. "Saved searches" is a local solution that affects Postler only, while labels/tags can and should be synced with the IMAP server for compatibility with the webmail interface. "Saved searches" cannot cross multiple conditions, while Filters should be a able to do so. There is no folder-like list of "Saved searches" that would indicate new mail arriving in a specific saved search, while labels should have such a list (as described above). And perhaps "saved search" is not as intuitive as labels: for one, I wouldn't have thought to use saved searches as a replacement for e-mail tagging.

When threading / conversations [4] is implemented, it should be possible to label / tag individual messages as well as entire conversations (Gmail style). The latter means that any new mail arriving in an existent conversation should be automatically tagged with the existing conversation label.
