It'd be really cool to be able to visualize the progress of the timer using the dock item.

Hey alfalive,
Sorry, I don't think I was clear with my bug report. ;) Instead of using the badge, you should use the progress bar. A badge means there are that many unread items, whereas a progress bar means a process is taking place.
