Bug Description

Polly uses the wrong browser to open the links in tweets. My default browser in Xubuntu 11.10 is set to Opera. Polly opens links in Firefox.

Can you check if this is happening with other non-XFCE GTK2 applications?

I tried from Pidgin. Pidgin picks up the correct default browser.

So I guess Pidgin does not use the default GTK2 behavior for opening links. I'll peek at its source code to see what it does.

Did you ever track this down? I've tried changing ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list, but no luck. Pidgin opens in chrome, but Polly always seems to open in firefox, no matter what I try.

Sorry for not replying.

I believe I'm using the GTK+ method for opening URIs correctly, and there's little I can do on the Polly side.

I recommend checking both mimeapps.list and defaults.list to see if the browser configuration isn't there.

I have the same issue : my default browser is iceweasel (firefox on debian).
When I open a link in polly, it opens chromium...

I use KDE on a debian.

Same here.
Mint 7.2 KDE polly does not recognize the default browser. Pidgin does.
My default browser is chromium.
