Can you elaborate a little bit more? From your first sentence I get the impression you are stuck in the Connecting page, but from your second sentence I get the impression you are stuck in the Authentication page. It can't be both. Which is it?

In the Authentication page. As I understand, Connecting page should open
a web browser, right? For me, it doesn't. Neither does clicking the link
on Authentication page.

The browser does not open automatically during the Connecting page (as I think this would be too intrusive), but clicking on the link should work...

Since you use Fluxbox, I'm going to guess this is the problem:

http://guake.org/ticket/262

I will test the webbrowser module and see if works. Meanwhile, as a workaround, see if you can right-click the link to copy the URL.

Yep, it works if I right click it or just press Enter when it's focused.
But after entering my PIN, I get Twitter error 400 and the retry link
isn't working either, only if I press Enter.

If it works when you press Enter, then detecting the default browser is not the issue as I thought... Do you use any other GTK app that shows links? Does it work?

The 400 error is also strange, as an authorization error would be 401. Code 400 is usually what you get when you are being rate limited, although it can be shown due to several other reasons... Perhaps it's a temporary situation on Twitter's side.

Sure. For instance, Pidgin links in Help->About work perfectly.

Ernestas, did you test Polly's Help->About link?

Ernestas, could you test Polly's Help->About link? I need this to narrow down the issue.

Polly's Help->About link doesn't work either, unless I use Enter button.

Can you check if the Pidgin you use uses GTK2 or GTK3?

GTK2. Some other programs, like Transmission, Audacious, use GTK3.

Hmm, then it's not a GTK2 problem... Weird, I don't know else could be affecting Polly but not other applications.

If at least the issue was happening only to links I created, I would have more to investigate... but the link in Help->About is created automatically. I'm quick stuck now.

Fluxbox does not seem to be the problem either, as I know other FB users who use Polly without issues...

Isn't there anything else out of the ordinary in your setup?

Nope, nothing. Maybe it's just some kind of missing GNOME/GTK/Python
dependency, because I've never installed GNOME on my Archlinux system.
Right now, I'm preparing a test ArchLinux box to which I will install lots
of GNOME apps and GNOME itself so I would know whether this is a dependency
problem.

I've installed ArchLinux on VirtualBox. Installed everything with pacman -Syu gnome, pacman -S gnome-extra, then obtained polly from AUR. Links worked, but after submitting PIN I always were getting "Twitter refused the request" error.

This kind of issue is usually Twitter being temporarily annoying, try again after a few hours.

Regardless, it would still be good to know if the other part of the problem was temporary or not.
