The idea is taken from Mac OS X global menubar, they have the app name at the very left of the bar and it's is highlighted (bold fontface). And next to name, also the icon, that could be useful so one can immediately identify to which app the menu correspond to.
*AppIcon AppName* File Edit Preferences Help
Maybe window options could be added in the dropdown list of that button.
Also the "Configure AppName..." item (although this could not be possible right now).
