Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

The plasma-widget-menubar should show the name of the application (it doesn't yet), but once it does, the appcontrol widget should not duplicate this if the menubar widget is showing it.

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this feature request! Unfortunately, at this time Kubuntu does not have the developer manpower needed to implement and maintain many features at the Kubuntu level. This wish would best be reported and tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that it can be implemented by the KDE developers themselves. Once implemented in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the feature is implemented in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!

Actually the plasma-widget-menubar is not in KDE, but launchpad, I'll move the bug there.

This is a design interaction between plasma-widget-menubar (not upstream KDE) and the plasma-netbook appcontrol widget (upstream KDE), so it can't be upstreamed until KDE depends on Qt 4.8 and can support plasma-widget-menubar. In the mean time, if we fix it, it'd be with a distro patch to kde-workspace.
