Bug Description

GNOME 42 with X11 on Ubuntu 22.04:

Plank works just fine when launched from application menu or terminal, but does nothing when added as a Startup App in Gnome or when an entry is added to /etc/xdg/autostart.

Practically, one has to "killall plank && plank &" in order to get it to show on the screen.

I tried adding a manual entry for a startup app that launches plank and dumps std output to a file using "Exec=plank > /home/.../Desktop/plank.log", but the file was either not created at all, or left empty. I'm afraid that's where my capabilities to debug this issue end.
