Plank icons stop bouncing after a very short time

Ubuntu Mate 18.04. Nvidia 1050TI GPU. Plank icons stop bouncing after a very short time. It's really annoying but applications still launch. Plank came installed with the system.

Is there any chance that this git fix will be applied in the 18.04 version of plank under SRU ?

I am working on a Dell Laptop with a fresh install of Ubuntu Budgie 18.10. Here, the effect of degrading animation of the icons continues until today. After some time (or clicks) I haven't measured, the "bouncing" of the icons stops. From the issue record I understand that it has been fixed, but on my machine it continues until today. I really like Plank, but I find the (lack of) effect a little annoying.

Plank is a dead loss.

I switched to Docky and have had nothing but joy with it.
