Plank adds an extra icon when trying to empty trash

I have the trash icon on plank. Every time I empty the trash from plank, a new anchor icon opens and stays there.

The only way to remove it is to kill plank and re open it.

Actually it's the "plank" dockitem that starts to show after getting a dialogue launched from plank (like empty trash) that doesn't go away again until plank is restarted.
