Plank not visible on other workspaces with Plasma 5

Plank visible only one workspace - if you run from desktop file

Confirmed on latest Kubuntu 15.10 :

 - plasmashell 5.4.2
- plank 0.10.9.1526

I've got exactly the same situation - plank stuck to the workspace it was launched on unless it is launched from terminal.

Temporary solution - start binary file on Dolphin (or symlink):
ln -s /usr/bin/plank ~/.plank

Run ~/.plank or /usr/bin/plank on Dolphin - working normal.

Also if add plank.desktop to autostart - dock working normal to.

Here's the version of the packages I'm running on Kubuntu 16.04 LTS:

There's a decent Plank replacement for Plasma now, called Now Dock.

There are three components to it:

- a little script with a GUI that generates a copy of your preferred plasma theme, but with the panels at your specified edge transparent (launch it with `python main.py` in the checkout dir)
- a dock applet
- an alternative panel type, to which you add that applet

So it's a little funny to set up at first, but it's a dock that looks as good as Plank, and also has window previews and other plasma goodies.
