Sony DSC-P51 Does Not Import Pictures

This is the error gthumb gives when trying to import photos. the device is pluged in, and is seen under device manager but the model numbers listed there do not match the camera.

An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find USB device (vendor 0x54c, product 0x4e). Make sure this device is connected to the computer.

I have tested this camera under 5.10, and it was auto mounted, and the pictures where able to be transfered. under the latest dapper the camera is shown under device drivers however it's model number does not match the camera, and pictures can not be transfered. not sure what info is needed to so this can be fix.

Automatic photo import doesn't work under dapper.

Can you run gphoto2 --debug and attach the output here?

i have a Sony DSC-V1. When starting gthumb in shell and then connect the camera everything works fine. When first connecting the camera, gthump starts but, import images doesn't work. gphoto2 isen't istalled on my system.

Bumping Severity back to Normal, it's not "Makes a default Ubuntu installation generally unusable for some users".

Martin, do you have any idea on what could cause gthumb to import nicely but not the gthumb-gvm-import thingie?

Under dapper 64 g-thumb 2.7.6 imports photos of of the Sony DSC-P51 with out issues now.
