unrelated information on build log page

more than half of the space of the browser page is blank and/or doesn't contain any information of the build logs/status

How do you mean ? Are you pointing a Layout problem (this page content isn't happy with portlets) or do you mean the main content itself ?
Even to mark it as duplicated of the redesign/clean-up task (bug # 3839) I need to know more specific info about this. Could you clarify, please ?

3839 only talks about icons. if 3839 is meant as a redesign/clean-up task, a pointer to some more information would be helpful.

it's not the middle column, the portlets hardly have any information concerning the status of the builds.

mpt has a task "in progress" related with the "clean up" of this page, bug # 3839, he'll be aware about all those issues when he arrive today, don't worry.
I see that you are basically concerned about the Portlet based layout, we will discuss it ASAP and move the bugs arround properly.
Thanks for the honest feedback, we will get those pages fixed.

Changing the default status filter to the 'building' jobs has helped, I think. That page is way more useful now.
