firefox and kubuntu slide-show exit when background switching

When I want to use the slide show fonctionality (on the kDesktop), firefox exit when background switching. I have no error message in /var/log/message and /var/log/syslog.

For repeat this bug, I just being to the slide show mode and wait for the background siwtching.

I have firefox 1.0.7 from the mozilla-firefox package.

with kubuntu 6.06 (KDE 3.5.2, firefox 1.5) using this desktop background slideshow feature causes firefox to become unresponsive for a few second, then go back to the top of the page being viewed. Highly annoying even though it doesn't crash here.

As in the original report, no errors logged whatsoever. Other apps don't seem to be affected.

I tried it on edgy with firefox 2.0 and kde 3.5.5 and could not reproduce a crash or a slowdown.

Is this still a problem for one of you?

I stop to use kubuntu for this time (I'm come back on classic ubuntu), so I cannot answer, sorry...

Tried just now (installed edgy a month or so ago but didn't dare using this feature yet) and it seems all is well: the going back to top of page and any form of serious unresponsiveness is gone. Tested with KDE 3.5.5, Firefox 2.0, and Mozilla 1.7.13.
