Bug Description

We accidentally are using the latest version 1.8.2 on Python 3.5, although Python 3.5 support was dropped in 1.7.0.

This can be easily prevented by adding a `python_requires` option to setup.py/setup.cfg.

I have seen you are still using bazaar. I bet you know that Launchpad meanwhile also supports git.

Using git would make contributions way easier.
