Bug Description

Thanks for giving me the 411 on this Kevin, is there anyone out there that would like to add this feature, the album cover quality doesn't really matter to me =)

Do you think there will ever be a full-screen option that just shows the album cover and song info? If not, maybe think about it?

Just a snippet from Kevin's reply to my question:

Biggest issue would be that the resolution of the album art provided by Pandora isn't great.

It's not something I plan to implement, but if you submit a bug someone might see it and pick it up.

Changed in pithos:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Triaged

With the JSON API, the album art quality is somewhat higher (500 by 500px for most songs). So that may not be an issue.

What do you want this for exactly? An HTPC?

Well it would be great for that.. but I use Ubuntu and Pithos all day at work.. where I do not always get a chance to see what the song and artist is sometimes, so it's nice just to glance over and see it on the screen.. I do not want it for anything specific.. just to have it would be nice.. would be great at parties.. etc..

P.S. - Thanks for looking into this =)

I have an Ubuntu laptop in our living room dedicated to media, and Pandora (through Pithos) is one of the most frequently used online music sources on it. While the current interface works, it'd be nice to have a full-screen mode (a small Pithos window on a 1400x1050 screen is hard to see across the room). I guess this would count as an HTPC?

While I have no experience with the code, there's a Python plugin for Rhythmbox called Rhythmbox-Fullscreen which worked great (at least until Rhythmbox got ported to GTK3). See http://code.google.com/p/rhythmbox-fullscreen-plugin/

I can try to help, although my programming knowledge is more with C#, Bash, and VB.NET.
