Bug Description

Upcoming releases of Ubuntu (10.10 and forward) will include an enhanced music/audio menu with more than just the volume control. One of the purposes of this menu is to provide quick access to audio programs (such as ryhtmbox, banshee, etc). Does Pithos have an advanced enough API to allow for it's integration into this menu? Having to access the pithos app in order to skip, like, etc can be a bit burdensome, and this will be the "preferred Ubuntu" method at least for a while.

Details on the "Sound Menu" spec can be found at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoundMenu (Assuming you can call it a spec).

Details on exactly how to register a player (in this case Pithos) can be found specifically at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoundMenu#Registration%20process. These process seems to have code available in both Python and C, so should be easily compatible with Pithos.

I may not be familiar enough with the Pithos code to make this happen, but I can do someone's leg work for them.
