Bug Description

Hi, after an upgrade yesterday (somewhat delayed) alsa audio stops working.
I have tried all the usual things including:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-pipelight WINEARCH=win32 /opt/wine-compholio/bin/winecfg
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-pipelight winetricks

plus I deleted the prefixes. I did all of this after trying the flash-x64 which worked until the upgrade. Eventually I deleted the flash-x64 prefix and disabled it using pipelight-disable and enabled the standard 32 bit wine.

I am still getting no audio. I can obtain audio by starting jack and using a loopback sound device as used by cadence.

The distro is lubuntu
3.13.0-30-lowlatency #55-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 4 21:58:44 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

my desktop environment is standard lubuntu - so lxde spin openbox (I think).

Many thanks.

This sounds like your PulseAudio daemon is not setup correctly. Did you do anything to change PulseAudio recently?

I haven't changed anything and had used the winetricks to set the alsa on
in the settings dialog. I have pulseaudio set to not spawn in client.conf
and everything was working fine. I would uninstall pulseaudio completely
if I could without losing some apps that falsely have a dependence.

Right now I'm having to manually start jack and turn the loopback device on
to get audio, where before I was just logging in and everything worked fine.

I'll try after dinner to fix it again,

Thanks
